Compassionate Care in a Place That Feels Like Home

Albany Care Home did a great job of looking after my father after a sudden loss of mobility in the context of dementia and confusion. It is a warm community of caring people, where residents are treated with care, compassion and kindness. I would recommend you check our Albany if you are looking for the right place for a loved one. Everywhere is clean, light, smells fresh, and the food is excellent.

I am over the moon to know that my friend has a very suitable home. She is being so well looked after by all the members of staff. Knowing that she is safe and secure is such a blessing, and the treatment she receives is excellent. I am thoroughly delighted to see her partake in activities, have company at meal times and her own space when needed. From ringing the doorbell on entry to leaving, I can't rate Albany any higher. It is a home from home and more. Thank you all for your hard and rewarding work.

2 weeks of respite care after 3 weeks of hospitalisation with pneumonia. Visited every day and Ian had no complaints.

The staff at Albany, the whole team, have been really wonderful - it is a pleasure to visit, and when I leave each time I feel confident that the standard of nursing and personal care will be exemplary. The building and furnishings look very smart following the refurbishment and the standard of catering is exceptional. Albany Care Home provides a really excellent standard of care. The staff are friendly, caring and genuinely interested in all of their residents and relatives of their residents. Both of my parents had to move into care at short notice this year after a crisis. The relief at seeing them now safe and well looked after is indescribable. The staff facilitate them being together as much as possible. The food is excellent. The activities coordinator is wonderful. Can't thank you enough for your care.

In my profession, I have visited many care homes. Albany is are of the best, if not the best! Why? Because all the aspects you list, care/support, food etc. are excellent. But best of all. carers and other visitors are always welcome and made to feel they are part of the team doing the best for each resident. Albany is also very adaptable and flexible in adjusting to my special meals for hospital investigation at short notice.

I've visited my friend in the Albany twice since she moved in on Tuesday 27th May. Her room is large and light with a lovely view. Her room is large and light with a lovely view. It is well equipped with modern furniture. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The first visit was in the morning and we were both offered coffee. Yesterday afternoon we were both offered a cup of tea and a lovely piece of cake. My friend is adapting well to her new surroundings and speaks well of the care she is receiving.

My first visit to this lovely home. I was very impressed. We went for a relatives meeting and sat in the dining room. The other relatives we met all helped at the home, one way or another. The tables were laid like an expensive restaurant. The home is being decorated and is light and bright.. The staff are warm, friendly and caring, even to visitors, and striving to be better. Some residents were watching the tv in the lounge. My sister-in-law was comfortable in her room.

My uncle has a big room.since he moved to the carehome, he has become more happier. He is talking more and coming down to the main lounge. Joining in the activities with other residents. He is looking much healthier and better for it. All the staff at the home are welcoming and very friendly. Overall a very good home.

The staff are amazing regards to care, very attentive and caring. My mum had constant medical needs and they were dedicated and patient towards her. As a family we felt well supported and informed. Would 100% recommend the Albany!

All of the staff were incredibly kind and considerate. Nothing was too much trouble and Mum enjoyed the activities and fireworks on New Year's Eve. As a family, knowing that she was safe and happy meant we could finally relax. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Albany Care Home. In comparison to others I have visited, this is five-star. My mum loves it in the Albany Care Home and loves the carers, staff and managers. Last year she said she'd had the best Christmas in years and birthday. She was made such a fuss of, it really was/is fantastic. The best thing for me is knowing she is well cared for and I have peace of mind that she isn't in pain or suffering. My dad very quickly felt safe and comfortable here at the Albany Care Home. He is very happy with the food and says the staff are very friendly and helpful which has also been my experience. The staff and nurses always have time to talk to me and update me on Dad's care and progress. My dad's room is always clean and tidy. I am very happy with my dad's care and treatment that he is receiving here at the Albany. I cannot fault the staff at all.

My father was cared for by all staff in a professional and more importantly, a loving and caring way. He gained weight and had constant interaction from the carers, tea ladies, cleaners, nurses and so on. The Albany made him feel respected and gave me peace of mind to leave him confidently. Family members visiting were all accommodated and greeted with friendliness. My dad's death was handled with love and kindness, all professionally executed. Thank you 'The Albany.'

My mother-in-law could not have had better care than in Albany Care Home. The staff were fantastic, caring and always willing to help when needed. My mother-in-law is so grateful for the care she received here. She has not had this level of care before even in the hospital. She wants to thank all of the staff.

My mother was admitted as a hub patient for rehabilitation. The hub team were very helpful and attentive to Mum's needs. After a few weeks, Mum became a permanent resident. We chose the Albany Care Home as both Mum and family were very happy with everything. The activities are excellent and Mum enjoyed them when she was well enough. The ongoing care, support, food, the people, including everybody, are all amazing. I would highly recommend.

Very good welcoming staff. Plenty of things for residents to take part in and memorable times like Birthdays, New Year, mas and Bonfire Night, all celebrated with as many residents and family members as possible. Good managers, approachable and helpful. Generally, care is good and the home, whilst in need of a little updating of decor, is very clean. The food and the variety of it on offer is also very good. All of the carers seem to get to know the residents and family and are keep to help in any capacity. It is an advantage that it is a smaller care home, as it can seem more like a home.

I have had an enjoyable stay at the Albany. I had no idea how nice it was. Everyone was so kind and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. The entertainment was a surprise and the food was excellent. If I had to live in a care home, I couldn't have asked for a better place.

The staff at the Albany care home were very helpful, supportive and treated me with respect. The staff were always very busy but anything I needed they tried their best to give as much support as possible. Although the pain was still quite hard to cope with in the beginning, they helped with my personal care, as carefully as possible.

My sister and myself can't fault the care and attention that our mother received in the last few weeks of her life. All the staff at Albany Care Home including the admin staff were so supportive and caring. Our mother was happy there and we were visiting every day for at least 2 1/2 hours when she was receiving end-of-life care. At times it was distressing to see our mother but there was never a time when we were made to feel unwelcome. We would highly recommend Albany Care Home to anyone. We were so happy that our mother was there.

My relative was a resident for five months until his death in January. He was treated with great compassion, excellent physical care, and friendliness. He was happy and relaxed during his time there. Under difficult circumstances due to the pandemic, I found the staff to be professional, considerate, and friendly while following restrictions.

I live in San Francisco, so I must be comfortable with, and able to trust my mother's caregivers. I visited in October 2021 and found the staff to be extremely helpful, accommodating to my schedule and the room my mother is in was very spacious, comfortable, and light-filled. The staff made sure I went through correct Covid protocols and I ended my visit knowing my mother was and is in good hands.

After having a bad break and bad blood levels I was put on a monitor for my heart. The experience of staff - all carers and all ages nursed me back.

It was a very sad time when the decision was made for my Grampy to go into a care home. All staff made me, my family and most importantly my Grampy feel a part of the family. He was looked after, loved and cared for, just as we would do. Thank you to ALL staff at the Albany for looking after him.

My father-in-law was resident at Albany Care Home from September 2019 until his passing on 1st February 2020. During this period all aspects of his care was given with love, empathy, compassion and laughter. He was happy and very settled throughout due to the incredible staff. 'Home from Home' there are not enough words to say what excellent, loving care that was given to my dad. From the ladies that did dads washing, to senior management, nothing was too much trouble and every day a loving smile and words of compassion. My brother was with Albany for a very short time. Sadly he passed away in the home. My family and I cannot thank the staff enough for all they did for him. From the nurses to care staff and management. A member of staff on reception was so kind to us and showed full compassion and understanding when my brother passed away. A wonderful place for Dad to spend his last few weeks. The manager was so helpful and kind to Dad and the carers and all the staff were so good to Dad. When we asked him if he wanted to go home, he said no, he wanted to stay at the Albany for the rest of his life, which he did. So thank you very much for everything you did for him.

All the staff were fantastic, I don't know how they do it, I couldn't. The food was excellent, the chef was a great guy. The home was very clean throughout the day.

I have nothing but praise for The Albany Care Home's treatment of my mother during her stay. My sisters and I agree that she progressed significantly during her time there. The entertainments provided were excellent and she often took part but felt no pressure to do so. The entire staff were kind and efficient. At all times we felt that she was safe and happy in their care.

My father was transferred to The Albany from the John Radcliffe hospital to one of their 'hub' beds as an interim stay before carers were in place at home. My mother, sister and I were so impressed with the wonderful surroundings, cleanliness and decor there. The food is great and very varied. But above all, the nursing and care staff were so lovely, caring and gentle with my father. They have a such a tough job but they were always smiling and nothing ever seemed too much trouble. My father felt safe and very well looked after for the duration of his stay (2.5 months). Although not close to home for us, we were glad that my father was at The Albany - knowing he was in great hands at The Albany.

My mother was transferred to the Albany in Headington for rehabilitation after a prolonged stay in two hospitals. The staff are very caring. All diets are catered for and food presented to look appealing, as well as being excellent. The home looks spotless and smells really fresh. The dining area looks like a very upmarket hotel, 2 conservatories and plenty of seating areas inside and out in the garden. Parking for visitors a bonus.

Albany Care Home has a lovely atmosphere, warm and caring. The staff can't do enough to help and are very welcoming to residents and visitors. The standard of cleanliness is extremely high with none of the usual smells that can be often prevalent in care homes. The food in the dining room is of a high standard.

Excellent care and service. Very friendly care. Nothing appeared too much bother to help my mother adjust to the care home. Rooms were excellent and the drink area was extremely good and very clean. Meals looked good and there was plenty of food throughout the day. Thanks to all the staff for their help and support.

The Albany is extremely well run with a welcoming friendly atmosphere. The level of care is excellent; the staff, without exception, are professional but treat each resident as a person. They look after the needs of the whole person, not just their physical well- being. The Albany is a 'CARE HOME' but it is above all a 'home from home' for the residents.

From the moment we walk through the doors it was like home. The staff went out of their way to make us all comfortable. I would like to wish the Albany and staff all the best for the future. Nothing seems to much for the staff or the manager. I was made welcome by all staff as I walked through the doors to see my mother in law. My daughter and I were treated with respect from every one, if I had to give stars it would be 5 KEEP THE GREAT WORK GOING GUYS well done.
